For years we have talked about what it would be like to have a lake cabin, John grew up going to his grandparents cabin in Northern Minnesota and all of our kids love water, including our pup YETI.  The catch is we live in Colorado which isn't exactly the land of 10,000 lakes. The lakes that are here are few and far between and most are actually reservoirs.  With COVID we cancelled our spring break plans and our summer trip, so while we were sitting around thinking about what we could do, we started talking about whether now might be the right time to look for a lake cabin. A couple years ago we vacationed near Granby and really loved the lakes - Lake Granby, Shadow Mountain Lake and Grand Lake.  While sweeping views of the lake are great they don't always come with actual access to the water, which is what we really wanted. We considered empty lots, houses on the lake and small cabins, in the end we fell in love with a rustic little cabin about 500 ft from the shore...
