Progress - furnishing

With COVID, most furniture stores are sold out or long delays, so we had to get creative to find furniture. We are lucky to live in a neighborhood that has a couple great swap sites, so we have been able to find many of our furniture items from neighbors and friends.

We have been fortunate to pick up some really cute vintage pieces as well as some that are just eclectic and fun.

I especially love this little tin cabinet that we are using to hold spices - it pairs nicely with our original 1957 heater that is still going strong.

The bedrooms are setup as follows:

The bedroom nearest the bath has a king size platform bed with a luxury coil mattress, and a couple of rustic side tables with drawers. We also found a fun blue sideboard that provides a bit of storage. We decided that cable was really unnecessary at the cabin, so we have smart tvs to allow a bit of movie or show viewing pleasure, this bedroom has a 43" smart tv. This bedroom also has a wolf picture that John has had for years, but we never had a good place for - it is a great match to the blue sideboard.  this bedroom will also be getting a barn door for the closet, and we have a cowhide rug so you can remember you are at the cabin.

The middle bedroom is covered in beautiful beetle kill pine, we complemented this with a white metal king platform bedframe, a nightstand with turquoise accents, and an antique dresser. Similar to the first bedroom, this bedroom also has a smart tv- 32". This bedroom has access to the backyard with a sliding glass door that provides glimpses of the mountains in the distance, as well as a memory foam mattress.

The last bedroom is still being furnished - at this point our plan is a full over full bunk with a day bed for the kids to be able to have a place to bunk up.

The family room is nearly complete - we were able to find a leather sectional along with some fun accents. The coffee table has a crank up/down if you need a higher surface. The side table has a millstone top. This room also features a smart tv - 50" along with a wii and small video game library. We were very lucky that the prior homeowner agreed to gift us a pair of antlers for over the fireplace - this set is from a mule deer in Oklahoma.  The family room has a pass through to the sun porch that provides a perfect space to play a game or assemble a jigsaw puzzle.

The sun porch offers a relaxing space to read a book or play a game.

We are still working on updates to the kitchen, we are adding a dishwasher, more cabinets and a larger fridge.
