Summer Rental 2021

Image
We are offering up a few select weeks at our cabin near Lake Granby during Summer 2021.  Select weeks available in June, July, August and September.  Our rustic cabin is 3 BR/1BA on a quarter acre lot in a quiet residential neighborhood. Access to Lake Granby is about 500 ft down the road- great for fishing, paddleboarding, canoeing or just splashing in the water and playing in the sand. The cove that we have access to is fairly protected and gets gentle waves many afternoons, but is pretty calm in the morning and late afternoon.  While we do not have a dock, you can use the public access that is about a mile away and can get smaller boats or jet skis into the cove to tie off of the beach.  Our 1957 cabin has lots of character and charm along with many updates to provide common conveniences. Hardwood floors in bedrooms and main living, beetle kill tung and groove and bead board on the walls, recently updated wood burning fireplace, and new appliances.  Furn...

The Lake - Lake Granby

While we've definitely mentioned the lake in a few posts, the lake is central enough to our cabin that it deserves its own post.  Our cabin is not directly on the lake, it is about 500 ft down a flat gravel road. The road is very quiet - you might meet one of our neighbors or see one of the neighborhood pups. The last 50 ft or so are a foot path that is not wide enough for a car.  Our beach is actually owned by Arapaho national forest, but very few people know it is there and with the deeded walk way, it is normally either just our family or we might see another neighbor.  The cove is very shallow - you can bring a jet ski or other smaller boat in to tie off (the marina is about a mile away). Unfortunately we do not have a dock. What we love about the shallow cove is that is fun to swim and not as cold as the rest of the lake, additionally it is quite protected and doesn't get as wavy as the larger parts of the lake.  Earlier in the summer we have a pretty thin...

Bathroom - minor updates

We have ONE bathroom, and while we would like to figure out a way to add another, just not in the cards for right now, so we want to make the one we have as functional as possible.  Thankfully the toilet is brand new.  We added an above the toilet mounted cabinet to add extra storage, as well as a new vanity and faucet along with some very cute wall mounted ball jars near the sink.  Very minor changes here.

The neighborhood

One of the things we love about our cabin is we have neighbors that know the area. Our road has a mix of year rounders and seasonal part timers (like us).   We are definitely not isolated, but yet our lot is large enough and our road is quiet enough that you can go days with only seeing a couple cars go by on our road. We are still working on completing the fence that will provide some buffering from highway 34. With the windows open or in the back yard and you will hear some highway sounds - inside with windows closed, you will forget it is there. In the winter we appreciate the short drive to a major road (less than 250 ft to highway 34)  We love the glimpses of mountains that we get to the north from each of the bedrooms.  We can't see Lake Granby from our house - but if you stand at the corner of the drive, you will catch glimpses through the trees.  One of my favorite walks is to the east and down to the lake, you walk by a few of our neighbors and then whe...
